“Born and raised in south Louisiana, I have always had the benefit of experiencing southern hospitality as a way of life. I feel that treating others as you would want to be treated and caring for their needs as if they were your own family is the best approach..
I am a Board certified General Surgeon and have been in practice for 15 years, performing countless procedures ranging in treatment of over 37 different conditions.
I received my medical education through Louisiana State University Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. I completed my General Surgery internship with LSU at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, LA in June 1997 and finished my General Surgery residency with the LSU Department of Surgery, New Orleans in May of 2002. As a surgery resident, I was honored to be named Outstanding Resident for my first two years of residency and was named the Teaching Chief Resident for my last year. I entered General Surgery private practice in New Iberia, LA and five years later relocated to my current location in Lafayette, Louisiana. I am also a decorated military veteran who has served 20 years with the Army and Air Force and retired in 2013 as the Commander of the 159th Fight Wing Medical Group.”

Theresa Dozier believes in angels. After nearly two weeks in servere pain at home in Jeanerette and several visits to doctors and hospitals, she found herself in the emergency waiting room at Our Lady of Lourdes on July 23, 2016.
“The time I spent in that emergency room was the time it took for an angel to be sent to save my life,” Dozier said.
Her ruptured appendix had caused a number of other internal issues.
“They said there was a surgeon there to see his other patients. When they told him about me, he came directly. I wasn’t looking good but Dr. Barrios told us he was going to do everything in his power to save me.”
